| Fisher & Thompson Inc, a leading and one
of the largest milking equipment dealers on the east coast had its
humble beginnings in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in July of 1983. Out of the
confines of their garages, Rick Thompson and Amos Fisher started their
milking equipment enterprise after being offered a Westfalia dealership.
This fledgling union produced a remarkable growth pattern in the
following years which resulted in the opening of two new branches at
Belleville and Mifflinburg, PA. This took place after 1989
when they expanded their milking equipment enterprise to include a
complete animal health line of
products. A third partner, Merle Ressler, who had spent several years as
a route salesman in the field of animal health, was added at this time
to manage this division. During the next 20 years, they purchased the
assets of three other milking equipment enterprises and started fully-staffed dairy stores at these new locations. |
| Because of the strength of their
dealership and strong commitment to the dairy industry throughout
Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey, they were recognized by other
overseas dairy enterprises as a company that would be a potential asset for marketing their equipment. In 2001, Dairymaster, an Ireland based company chose Fisher & Thompson to be
their first dealer in the U.S. for their unique style of milking parlors.
In 2006, Lely, a company from Holland, chose Fisher & Thompson Inc.
to be the first dealer in the U.S. to sell and maintain their Lely robotic
milking system. Adding to this, Mueller, a major U.S. milk tank manufacturer
offered them a dealership and Water Right, a water conditioning company
gave them a dealership to serve the needs of dairymen with water issues. |
| Today this
enterprise consists of seven places of operation with over 70 employees.
The headquarters are at 15 Newport Road, Leola, Pa and the remaining 6
locations are at Belleville, Chambersburg, Martinsburg, Mifflinburg,
Troy and Wyalusing, PA. They offer a range of services unmatched by any
other milking equipment dealer in their service area. These include sanitation technicians
for cleaning issues, stray voltage trouble-shooting, diagnostics and
trouble-shooting of high tech electronic dairy equipment, milking
schools for large dairies, testing and resolving water issues for
the dairymen, a large scale route delivery program of milk house
chemicals, teat dips, animal health items, and many more programs to
solve the problems that dairymen encounter in the dairy industry. If you
live within our area of operation, we welcome the privilege to partner
with you in your dairy operation. If you are out of our operating
territory, we welcome the opportunity to explore the options we might
have to accommodate you. A call is all it takes to become
acquainted and discuss how we might serve you with products that
would benefit and enhance the profitability of your dairy operation. |
